It is located on the right bank of the Kazanka River opposite the Kazan Kremlin. Kazan locals call it ‘the Bowl’ because its shape reminds a bowl or a copper, and that is not a coincidence. According to popular legends, the name ‘Kazan’ is derived from the Tatar word ‘kazan’, meaning ‘a copper’ or ‘a bowl’. Designed by a team of architects under the management of Konstantin Thon, it was intended to emphasise the greatness of Russian autocracy. Konstantin Thon was also the architect of the Kremlin Armoury and the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. The Troitsky crater in The Maly Semyachik a short volcanic range of about 3 km length. It consists of 3 joined cones: the ancient north cone (1560 m), the middle cone with half-covered crater, and the south-west cone with the several craters (including the active Troitsky crater). The most prominent part of this interesting crater is the light-greenish lake. The colour is caused by the sulphur which comes up from underwater fumaroles. The temperature of the lake is 30-40o C. The diameter of the lake is about 500 m, the depth is about 140 m. The Luzhniki Stadium is the national stadium of Russia, located in its capital city, Moscow. Its total seating capacity of 81,000 makes it the largest football stadium in Russia and one of the largest stadiums in Europe.
